Professor Alemdar Hasanoglu (Hasanov) is Head of the Department of Mathematics and Computer Sciences, and Dean of the Graduate School of Engineering and Science Izmir University. He received the degree B.S. in Mathematics from Baku State University, Azerbaijan, and received the degrees of M.S., Ph.D. in Computational Mathematics, Dr. Sc. in Mathematical Modeling and Computational Technology in Science from the Special Scientefic Committee (chaired by A.N. Tikhonov) at the Moscow State University (USSR).
He joined the Faculty of Computational Mathematics and Cybernetics, Moscow State University during the period from 1977 to 1982 and from 1986 to 1988.During the period from 1989 to 2009 he was a Full Professor at the Baku State University, Azerbaijan (1989-1991), Visiting Professor at the Moscow State University, Russia (1991).
